GOPers new plan to destroy Obama's mandate
Actually it's the same as the old plan. Now that we have a Democratic president again, the Republicans have suddenly discovered the importance of checks and balances. In a stunning display of brazen hypocrisy, John Bolton and John Yoo, the two biggest proponents of the unitary executive theory, are very concerned that Obama might try a foreign policy based on diplomacy instead of bombing half the planet into glass ashtrays, and find it imperative that Congress reclaims its treaty power.
Read that to mean that the Republicans will do their damnest to preserve the disgraced Bush Doctrine even if it means destroying the Republic and will obstruct any and all sensible reforms, simply so they can blame the Democrats for the destruction. One can only hope that Obama recognizes this mewling as a signal that trying for "bi-partisan" consensus is a loser's game.

Hi Libby. To me the really important aspect of this is, why is the NYT giving the legitimacy of its pages over to Captain Blowup and Torture Boy? Don't they have higher regard for their credibility?
That's a good point Dan. These guys should be consigned to shouting on street corners with the other crazy preachers.
