Good advice for Obama

Krugman has a good column today about the failure of the GOP's attempt to paint their planned incompetency as an inherent failing of "big government." Read it all, but here's the money quote.
Mr. Obama therefore has room to be bold. If Republicans try a 1993-style strategy of attacking him for promoting big government, they’ll learn two things: not only has the financial crisis discredited their economic theories, the racial subtext of anti-government rhetoric doesn’t play the way it used to.
This is so true. Americans don't really care about how big the government is, they just want it to function properly to serve our common needs and to stay out of our private, non-infringing affairs.
