A married California Republican state lawmaker and family values champion is caught on a hot mic telling a colleague, in graphic terms, about his affairs with two women, one of whom is an energy lobbyist.

I didn't have the stomach to watch to the video. The description was nauseating enough. Update: The guy has already resigned.

In related news, I was planning to ignore the Vanity Fair interview with Levi Johnston but James Wolcott pulls a quote that is so striking it's worth mentioning after all. Now, I know this is Levi and he could have made it all up, but sadly, after watching the way she interacted with that poor child on the campaign trail, it's not hard to imagine Sarah telling them she doesn't want to hold the retarded baby but wants to play with the "other one" instead.

And wingnut death threats to liberals isn't exactly news, but this one happened to Oliver Willis and is especially ugly with the racist twist. These people are monsters. I hate them for making me want to see them get locked up where they can't do any more damage to civil society.
