Bursitis blogging

Cutting back on computer time really is helping the shoulder so bear with me through another linkfest for this holiday Sunday. In no particular order:

Court rules Ashcroft can be held personally responsible for wrongful detention. [Decision [pdf] here]. Via Rising Hegemon and Jake Tapper.

Tenacious investigative reporter finally exposes the truth about the vigilantes in the aftermath of Katrina. Yes they did exist. Via matttbastard.

Update on the finger biting story that corrects the record. Via HoneyBearKelly.

Think I read about this a while back, but NYT looks at the banksters latest get rich quick scheme. It's absolutely ghoulish. Via Atrios.

Appalling video of Spanish-speaking bishop booed, heckled at Conn town hall. Via Virgotex.

Kos asks: Remember when that Hitler/Bush MoveOn ad was so beyond the pale it gave everyone the vapors? JayAckroyd responds: Where's the resolution? That's a good question. I'm normally against wasting time on resolutions, but a little Democratic outrage over all the Hitler comparisons would go a long way towards derailing the crazytrain, I think. Make the GOP go on record as supporting this shit -- or not. Time for the Dems to demand some respect for our president.

And I liked this tweet: SteveAudio Re: cost v. benefit of private health insurance, I heard someone say: "It's like buying a new car every year, then not getting to drive it".

And I know a lot of people think that human interaction with wild animals is wrong but I think this is just amazing to watch. It's different than Steve Irwin because this guy's not trying to get them riled up. He's just talking to them.
