President McCain

I continue to believe it's because of the barbecues.
Since the president took office, McCain has been on "Meet the Press" twice (July 12 and March 29), "Face the Nation" three times (August 30, April 26, and February 8), CNN's "State of the Union" twice (August 2 and February 15), "Fox News Sunday" three times (July 2, March 8, and January 25), and "This Week" twice (August 23 and May 10).

Eric Boehlert recently checked and found that John Kerry, in the eight months after Bush's second inaugural, made three appearances on the Sunday morning shows. As Boehlert concluded, "[A]fter Kerry lost in November, the press walked away from him. After McCain lost in November, the press still crowds around him."
McCain has no particular relevance in the Congress right now, nor to the national party other than he lost the election by an impressive margin. The key word in the last sentence being "lost" which appears to have escaped the media's notice. When Bush was in office they told us they didn't have Democrats on the bobblehead shows because the GOP was in power. What's their excuse now?

The man is a joke, maybe that makes the media feel more comfortable with their own idiocy.

Hope that the shoulder gets all better with no further bother, Libby.

It seems to me that the Republicans are still in a daze at the disruption of what they had convinced themselves was the natural order of things: rich white men on top.

I guess much of the press either agrees or is trying to pander to old people who still buy commercial news instead of getting the real story right here.

On "This week with George Stephanopoulos", he supported Sarah Palin's discredited "death panel" lie. Why anybody would listen to him seriously after that is beyond me.

That's so typical of McCain though - supporting and denying things and people as suits the audience rather than what suits the facts.
