John Edwards - the man and his party

I posted my last set of photos and commentary on John Edwards birthday party at Newshoggers last night. I won't repeat my commentary here, but let me just say that while I haven't made up my mind about supporting her husband, I was most impressed by Elizabeth Edwards. I think she would make a helluva great First Lady.

Although I too admire his lovely wife, Elizabeth; her strength and courage are astounding, I am not at all impressed with John Edwards. He waffles on the issues depending which way the wind blows like most of the pack and as an NC senator his record is pretty dismal with him not showing up to vote on too many occasions. Our next president needs to be not another opportunist seeking only personal gain but a servant of the people.

Rocky that could describe any politican in DC and the also the entire field of candidates on both sides. I think you're buying the MSM campaign to discredit Edwards as a phony.

Like I said, I'm not sold on him, but he's not as bad as he's painted to be and he's a lot less worse than most of the other choices.

I'm not "buying" anything. I've been watching him for quite some time and I'm not impressed.

I'm not impressed with anyone in the field on either side but Edwards is speaking the most clearly on my concerns and I'm feeling a little more favorable towards him.

It's all relative Rocky. How does his record measure up against the other contenders? I don't think he's the worst no-show and I don't see him flip-flopping. What issues are you talking about? That's Mitt's schtick.

You know I'm sick of all the pro politicians but you pick a president with the candidates you got, not the candidates you would like to have.

Who do you like better? He's the one I'm finding the least depressing lately, which I why I gave up a pleasant afternoon at the pool to see him in action.
