Oil for Food scandal nets big fish

By Libby

I'm surprised the wingnuts haven't seized on this story. A new investigation reveals Chevron paid kickbacks to Saddam Hussien while purchasing Iraqi crude under the Oil for Food program. Chevron claims it didn't know the kickbacks were being paid but will admit they should have known since they had a high profile board member in charge of ferreting out just such political conflicts on their public policy committee. At the time the kickbacks surcharges were instituted, Madeline Albright was in charge. No wonder she was such a big fan of the sanctions when she became Secretary of State, huh?

What a scandal. She never should have been allowed to represent our country with such shady dealings in her past. I wonder how much money she made on that deal and she even got an oil tanker named after her in gratitude for all her "help." So why aren't the wingnuts calling for her head?

Oh, did I say Madeline Albright? I meant to say Condi Rice. Never mind then. We all know neo-cons aren't ever guilty of anything.
