More Democratic betrayals

By Libby

Hot on the heels of the GOP's little Mad Hatter's tea party with the Commander Guy yesterday, where a whopping 11 Republicans "frankly expressed" their concerns, John Aravosis at Americablog is reporting the so-called Blue Dog Democrats are about to sell us out and vote with the GOP today to give Bush the blank check he's asking for on continuing the occupation of Iraq.

Word has it they will vote to strip every restriction from the Iraq supplemental bill and give our Reckless Leader carte blanche to continue unfettered in his folly pretty much forever. Call your Congressman and raise some hell right now. Tell them you want measureable metrics included in this bill.

Being politicians as opposed to real people, my guess is they will make a lot of noise in opposition, but since there is no exit strategy and monkey boy and his clan will be in office for another year, and since no one knows where American sentiment will be in the coming months, everyone is hedging their bets. Make enough protest noises to keep the left happy but don't pull the rug out from under DC circus because you never know when you might need to ally yourself with the Reps. It's all politics while our sons and daughters keep dying....

Oh, that there really would be A FEW PATRIOTIC DEMOCRATS. Somehow, I doubt it very, very much. They're all too busy selling out our military in the vain and idiotic hope it will get them re-elected.
