Kmiec channels Mad Hatter tea party
By Libby
Next lifetime, I want to be a former high ranking official in the government so the WaPo will pay me to write nonsenical op-eds chock full of spurious claims like this one from GOP brown-noser Douglas Kmiec. This bizarre screed should have been laughed off the editor's desk instead of being published as a serious opinion piece. I would say more on it myself, but Marty Lederman at Balkinization already has the smart post that explains why Kmiec is just another pathetic White House shill.
The bottom line is Bush unequivocally broke the law in authorizing the NSA's domestic surveillance abuses and an investigation into his criminal circumvention of a law designed to prevent just such abuses needs to be launched immediately.
