Remembering Gary Webb

Interesting interview in the Independent today with Gary Webb's ex-wife. Chalmers couldn't resist taking a dig at his Dark Alliance story but nonetheless at least gave it some credibility.

I can't say Gary was a friend of mine, but I spent a week with him in a group setting a couple of years ago. We talked at some length and I found him to be an incredibly intelligent and honest person and his work ethic was impeccable. I have no doubt that everything he wrote about the CIA and drugs was true. What bothers me is, if all these people who are writing him now, had come to his defense earlier, he might not be dead today.
