The police state cometh

The Pentagon can spin this silly but the bottom line is they're looking to expand the power of the military to spy on US citizens. The spokesman reassures us that they will use the powers rarely and that it's necessary.
Peirce said one reason the new authority is needed is that there is "evidence the enemy is inside the U.S. perimeter."
Give me a break. The "enemy" has been inside the US perimeter for decades and they're not always Islamic terrorists either. Sometimes they're Republican Congressmen. In any event we have other agencies already in place to gather that sort of intelligence.

Add this to the list of proposed measures, like having the military take control from the states during natural disasters, that are designed to facilitate creation of the PNAC police state.
