Tell me why, why you cried...

Terry Neal at the WaPo has a bunch of questions that the Katrina survivors and in fact all Americans deserve answers to, the last perhaps the most important.

Would a president who proclaims himself to be a conservative sign a $286 billion highway bill packed with some 6,000 pork-barrel projects, many of them frivolous, while cutting a request from the Army Corps of Engineers to bolster hurricane protection in New Orleans from $105 million to $40 million? Wouldn't a president who calls himself a conservative, demand that taxpayer money be spent on priorities and try to do something to reform a budgeting system that rewards politicians for acting like pigs at a trough?

Final question:

Bush, the CEO president?

I'd say the answer to the last one is no, if it implies Bush is somehow in charge of anything. More like he's the KPPP. That would be Karl's Pet Puppet President.

And here's one more question to add to this excellent list --

Why hasn't George Bush gone to his home state of Texas to visit, comfort and console the evacuees in the Astrodome?

It's unthinkable that the President and First Lady haven't bother to take the time to pay a visit to the largest gathering of those affected by this hurricane.

No, Bush isn't a CEO president, because if he were CEO of a company, he'd run it into the ground and the board would fire him. Every business he's ever been involved in has failed, so it's no wonder that he's running the country into the ground as well.
