No room at the Blair House - updated

Showing absolutely no class to the bitter end. The truth about the Blair House booking comes out today. At the time Bush denied Obama's request to stay there a few days early, he and Laura claimed it was booked already. But it wasn't. So to cover up his spiteful pettiness, George had to invent an event, namely the bestowal of a few more of those Freedom Medals, and managed to dig deep into the cesspool of his remaining loyalists to get the deposed John Howard, former prime minister of Australia to accept an invitiation to overnight at the guest house to cover his lack of civility.

Margaret Carlson has the details. The other heads of state due to be honored, Blair and Uribe made other arrangements for their housing, rather than stay at the 115 mansion and implicitly approve of the Bushes appalling lack of grace.
