Broder knows best?
By Libby
I don't know why I'm even linking to this putz but the "dean of the beltway punditry," you know that man with his finger on the pulse of the people, David Broder, posts such an egregiously arrogant op-ed that it demands some mockery.
Short version: I am David Broder and only I know what's best for America. You unwashed masses are stupid and don't have a clue about what's good for you. Politicians are supposed to lie to get elected and it's dangerous to our national security if you expect them to keep their campaign promises. If the politicians do what you want, they might actually solve some problems and then dim-witted, self-important pundits like myself will have nothing to talk about.

I could not agree more. Broder seems intent upon a Plato's Republic, whereby all "real" decisions are made for the ignorant.
Iraq, like Vietnam, is an example of where the "best and brightest" bravely don't go where they are willing to send the great unwashed to fight and die.
Well said Michael.
