Mr. Bush Says No
Today the worlds foremost expert on things that won't work in Iraq declared that the democrat's temporary war funding bill was dead in the water.
He's tried everything that his neocon geniuses at the Dept. of Defense have recommended. Richard Perle, Paul Wolfowitz, and the fabulous Presidential Medal of Freedom winner Don Rumsfeld had grand ideas and dreams of fewer troops, Iraqi oil paying for the occupation and reconstruction and then the peace loving Iraqis would come together in a Jeffersonian orgy of democratic ideals. There was only one little problem, they were wrong about everything and as a suprise to no one they are all gone now.
The only advice he hasn't taken on managing his little adventure was from his military commanders. After all, who is more qualified to run a war, the generals or Bush's chickenhawk, draft dodging, cabinet secretaries, and under-secretaries?
Of course the president is not alone in his ability to make stupid mistakes and say stupid things. Harry Reid D-Nev. is no stranger to putting his foot in his mouth.
Mr. Bush, leaving no stone unturned, wants to give the generals a little more time. Of course, this surge was not a plan the generals were in favor of, but Bush is "the decider".
No one has played more political games than this guy. He has taken every opportunity to use this war and the so-called war on terror to political advantage. He has wrapped himself in the flag and allowed true military heroes to be dishonored, all in the name of politics.
Bush will not back down and the democrats will have to be just as determined in their opposition.

It won't work," the president said, speaking to reporters at the Pentagon after a briefing on Iraq and Afghanistan.Well, there you have it ladies and gentlemen. There is no bigger expert on failure than George W. Bush and if he says it won't work, then it won't work. After all, he's tried everything in Iraq that his pollsters, handlers, yes men, butt kissers and campaign contributors have recommended.

It's very clear that the people around the president recognize there are some problems," said Reid, D-Nev. "And I think I have felt with my conversations with administration officials that there is a right admission that things are not going very well."Well, duh! Harry, you are one shrewd judge of people. Of course they know there's a problem, but it's not politically expedient of them to do anything about it. It's Mr. Bush's war and the Republicans own a sizeable chunk of it. If Bush's surge goes down, so does their party.
"There are 150 scenarios as to how this matter is going to be handled," said Reid. Finding a bill the Congress will pass and the president will sign is "extremely difficult," he added. The problem with Harry is that if there were only two scenarios he would choose the wrong one.

"Why don't we wait and see what happens," the president said. "Let's give this plan a chance to work. Let's stop playing politics."That last sentence goes to show what a funny guy this president is. I don't know if he winked when he said it, but he should have.

Good post, Jim and right on the money. It is so amusing when he accuses congress of "not listening to the commanders in the field" when he never does himself. His show is a nightmare and it should be stopped at any cost and by any method.
