Pelosi draws line in the sand on Iraq escalation

Okay maybe there's not that much difference between the two major parties or at least not enough, but this is why we elected Democrats in November folks. Sure they may be almost as corrupt as the GOP but they at least listen to the people.

Pelosi stated clearly that Congress will fully support all U.S. forces currently in Iraq. “But if the president wants to add to this mission, he is going to have to justify it,” Pelosi said. “This is new for him because up until now the Republican Congress has given a blank check with no oversight, no standards, no conditions, and we have gone into this situation, which is a war without end, which the American people have rejected.”

I think it's a little pathetic to be getting excited over what should be routine oversight, but after six years of virtually nothing -- even this small start gives me some big hope that we can reclaim our government by working within the system we have.
