On old age and failing eyesight
Posting has been light, or should I say nonexistent, today for a number of reasons. For one thing I hit the magic double number yesterday, and yikes -- I'm suddenly eligible for the senior citizen discount. I suppose I'll have to start wearing support hose and going to early bird dinners and taking bus trips to the casino with the other old folks....
Okay, I am kidding about that but I can't deny the old eyesight is failing me on a regular basis. I notice when I'm blogging on the laptop, even when I increase the font size, I make a lot of typos in my posts that I don't catch until I get home and reread them on the big monitor with my desktop computer. I even skip whole phrases sometimes. That's partly a function of posting on the fly since I mostly use the laptop at work and I'm stealing a moment here and there to put something up, but even though I don't really feel old and decrepit, there's no denying the old eyesight is getting worse and my multi-tasking skills are diminishing.
Still, as one of my exes reminded me yesterday -- every morning that you wake up and everything is still more or less working, life is good.

I'll be 48 later this year...but I'm young for my age...at least, that's what I keep telling myself. It gets me through the day.
