Judgment Day

I already posted on the big three in NJ, VA and CA at DetNews. Michigan also had an interesting mayoral race, in which an 18 year old write in candidate took the race from a 51 year old incumbent. Town of 8,000 and the kid campaigned door to door. He was a write in because he didn't turn 18 in time to file as a listed candidate. Believe me when I tell you this is the year for dark horse candidates.

Also a big congratulations to former Detroit co-blogger Kevin McKague, who can now be addressed as Councilman McKague, having won his race in Davison, MI. Sorry as I am to lose him at the DetNews, I'm thrilled to see honesty being brought back to the government from the bottom up. This is the way we will take the system back from too long entrenched and corrupt politicians.

Meanwhile, in the lesser known news, the indispensible Buzz Flash tells us,
Finally, in an ironic display of divine justice at the polls, "All eight members up for re-election to the Pennsylvania school board that had been sued for introducing the teaching of intelligent design as an alternative to evolution in biology class were swept out of office yesterday by a slate of challengers who campaigned against the intelligent design policy." Now, there's something to thank God about.
Amen.
