How did we get in this mess?

Of course we knew this already, but Daniel Benjamin reminds us in this article in Slate that Dick Cheney is a nut case extraordinaire and the source of all evil in the White House. Meanwhile Kevin Drum looks back in history to find this has always been true, but somehow was ignored until now. As Avedon points out, "it won't be Fitzmas if Cheney doesn't get some jail time."

I'm not holding my breath either, but if there's any justice left in this country, we'll live to see the big Dick frogmarched out of the White House.
