Roberts' records go AWOL

How bloody convenient.
A file folder containing papers from Supreme Court nominee John G. Roberts Jr.'s work on affirmative action more than 20 years ago disappeared from the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library after its review by two lawyers from the White House and the Justice Department in July, according to officials at the library and the National Archives and Records Administration.
Taken in context with emerging details of Roberts' past work, including this latest disturbing revelation of ideology rooted in misogyny, I'm beginning to wonder just what the White House is trying to pull here.

The prevailing wisdom is to save our energy for a bigger battle on the next nominition. However, I'm beginning think it might be worth contesting this nomination after all. This guy is going to be on the bench pronouncing judgment on our constitution for the next thirty years. Perhaps we shouldn't surrender to the White House without a fight.

If anyone knows a Democratic who still remembers how to listen to their constituency instead of chasing after mythical centrists, maybe you could pass that message on for me.
