Love makes a family

Bringing new meaning to the term "Boston marriage" it turns out the most celebrated couple in the city, a pair of swans at the public garden, are actually a same sex couple. Being females they have laid eggs but of course they couldn't hatch since they weren't fertilized.

Public officials ponder on what to do now that the "cob" is out of the closet. Since swans mate for life, introducing a male is out of the question but I like the idea of having the eggs artificially inseminated. I would bet the pair would make good parents given a chance to raise a brood.
