Congress gets great health care - for themselves

I did a long post on this at DetNews a few days ago, but I want to archive the link here too because I was looking for one about this for a while. It's not just that our Congresspeople have an insurance pool of private insurers to choose from. They have unlimited use of this state of the art, personal health care clinic on The Hill too for the princely sum of about $550 a year. Quite a deal.

Forgive the non-sequitor, but there is an ad on your page for a free copy of Sarah Palin's new book on your page.

This must be how she got so high on the Amazon list so quickly. Wing-nut orgs are buying them up to give them away.

Even so, I've always said that I doubt that anybody actually reads books penned by wing-nuts (or their ghost-writers). They just buy them to display next to their Larry the Cable Guy DVDs and Precious Moments collection, as "proof" of their "renegade, true-American" status.

Quiz the next person who claims they read a book from Beck, Coulter, Levin and the like. Bluff them and ask them what they think about the chapter on (insert first thing that pops into head), and watch them squirm.

Those books aren't meant to be read. Their sole purpose is to get onto best-seller lists, and apparently, this is how it's done.

Sorry, back to what you were saying...

I was thinking that too when she shot up the best seller list. They manipulate that list with the bulk buying. Have been for a long time.

I suppose it doesn't matter. They'll lose money and she won't get a deal for sequel. So there's that.
