Hating for ratings

I was just thinking that in a way, Rushblo and Beck are really hostages of the crazies too. They have no power beyond their ability to rile up the far right nut jobs. If they stop ranting, their ratings would drop faster than spent black gun ammo at a real 'Murkin gun rally. Of course, that doesn't make them any less monstrous.



Meanwhile, not to outdone in sociopathic frothing, Rushbo goes all Heil Hitler.

In related news, the crazy is incrementally morphing into violence. At this point I've seen accounts of a telephone death threat against one Congressman, an actual assault on another and now, as supporters are showing up to counter the astromobs, a near riot at an event in Florida, possibly incited in part by Glenn "Bizarro" Beck's 9/12 website.

The vampiric symbiosis between Beck and his crazies is sucking the lifeblood out of civil society. What makes it so evil is that he and Rushblo know they're pandering to the fringe, but their whole schtick is to convince the crazies that loud equals a majority. The reason there was a riot in Florida is that the fringers really believe. It's never occured to them that the reason they've been able to take over these meetings is that the supporters don't need to be convinced, so they haven't starting showing up until now.

I have a feeling this is going to get very ugly before it's over.
