Small comforts
Song in my head is by Gideon Freudmann. He's more than just an casual acquaintance but not quite a friend. I like him. The video is a little hokey, but I have my reasons for posting it.
Great news. His honor The Mayor of Simpleton is back to blogging. The reason he broke his hiatus isn't so good but it's a great comfort to have him back.
Hecate has a moving post on the upcoming inauguration. I hadn't made the connection until I read it. It's Always Some Little Girl, Looking All Alone, Surrounded By Grownups, With Her Hair Done Up. But It's Different, This Time.
NTodd is in Vegas on a family trip. I hope NTodd's pa doesn't fall in love with a showgirl and opt out for a quickie wedding.
Whiskey Ina shares some secrets.
The Deranged Leftwing Baker shares some bread porn. I swear there's a face in the loaf on the left. It's either Jesus or the ZigZag man.
Also, if you don't follow my DetNews blog regularly, I did a seven part series on the Bush Legacy. Scroll down to the archives. Only nine days left to go.
That gave rise to the hate mail of the week in Detroit.
A belated happy birthday to Soupy Sales. I'm glad to see he's still alive. I loved his show.
My sister discovers ice is nice. She inspired me to explore Harbin China in greater depth. Pretty amazing.
Also amazing is this extraordinary illusionist. This came via a viral email so maybe it's making the rounds but I didn't remember it and he's more interesting than Copperfield.
And if you like 50s music, this 1957 jukebox had a really fun set list.

Spencer: Shut up you leftist America hating Bush hater. You are pathetic. You and leftists like you have re-wrote the buck on pure hatred. Now go back to worshiping B.Hussein Obama. On the other hand, this website for a Tulum beachhouse uses my quote in their promo material and calls me a popular blogger. I love that beach. I could live there happily.

The Tulum quote is pretty neat! And I can't believe Soupy Sales is still alive! Remember years ago there were rumors that he had died of committed suicide or something? What I remember most about his show was that routine of patting your head and rubbing your stomach at hte same time - I still can't do it!
Thanks for the hat tip; Harbin is pretty amazing. They take ice sculpture to a whole new level.
Thanks Libby.
Hey Rocky. I thought the Tulum quote was hilarious.
Hey, Yerhonor. The pleasure is mine. Glad to see you back blogging.
thank you, libby, for the link and for your kind words.
just like soupy sales*, art is alive!
*i don't really remember anything about him other than having a crush on him as a young kid!
Hey Ina. I had a mad crush on him too but I remember the show vividly. You're probably just too young to have watched it long enough.
