Economy week on the campaign trail

By Libby

How tiresome. The LAT dissects Obama's economic proposals with an accountant's precision today but McCain's pie in the sky economic plan is barely mentioned and suffers no criticism. They don't even bother to note that McCain's plan offers no numbers at all. Even more irritating, they suggest that Obama basing his cost analysis partly on ending the occupation of Iraq is unrealistic but fail to mention that McCain specifically said he would fund his plan by 'winning' the war in Iraq within a year. Have to love that 'liberal press.'

At the Caucus, Michael Falcone is a least more fair in noting that economists are also skeptical about whether Mr. McCain can actually deliver on his plan at all. Falcone, by the way, has been delivering great roundups of the latest buzz on the campaign trail, focusing on the more substantive stories, such as they are and has been very good at highlighting the differences between Obama and McCain's public statements. He's becoming a daily stop for me.
