It's the unemployment, stupid
Going to be dealing with a paperwork problem for a few more hours today, so here's a good read from Bob Herbert in his new home. Should be read in full, but here's one of the money quotes on the unemployment problem that's being ignored by the DC elites:
How hard is it to understand that a consumer society cannot flourish when the consumers have been crushed?Via Doug J who has the other money quote. And like Doug, I think I didn't read Herbert often enough when he was with the NYT but I'm liking his slightly more aggressive tone at the new place. We should support Bob's new gig. He really is one of the rare mainstream voices that speak up for the working class people.
