The Naked Truth about Carrie Prejean

I don't find this semi-nude photo of Carrie Prejean all that shocking and I couldn't care less about what the wannabe Miss California USA thinks about same-sex marriage. She has a right to her own opinions. But what I do find absolutely shocking is this news:
Although Prejean said the pictures were taken when she was 17, others have alleged that they seem to have been taken after she underwent breast-enhancement surgery six weeks prior to the Miss USA pageant. That surgery was paid for by the Miss California pageant.
Not only is she "surgically enhanced" but the pagent paid for bigger breasts? Maybe my memory has faded over the years, but I seem to recall that plastic surgery was a mortal sin and even a nose job would disqualify a contestant back when I was young enough to dream of being a beauty queen. The whole premise of these vaguely demeaning events was the woman had to a "perfect specimen" of wholly natural beauty. Standards sure have changed.

And another thing. If she really was 17 in this photo, then shouldn't she and the photographer be arrested for child pornography like all those non-beauty contestant kids who are routinely arrested for passing around "racy" photos on their cell phones these days?

If she was underage, it certainly was child porn, which she intentionally participated in. That would not only be immoral, but illegal.

Another example of do as i say, not as I do philosophy. Hypocrite, there is no other word for it.

Except for we aren't charging those who were underage. She would legally be the victim of the child porn, and therefore couldn't be charged. In the cell phone cases we are only charging those that took the photos, not those in them.

She would be a hypocrite if she preaches against modeling like that but does it now. That was back then. How do we know what her views then were? People changed. She was still considered teenager then. She is adult now. Maybe she matured.

And let's get one thing straight- Christians don't say they are sinless. She did not say that. The very foundation of our belief is that we are all sinners and Christ died for our sins.

So if people prove she at times sin, no shocker. She never denied being a sinner, but a sinner that God forgives.

We can still speak out about what sin is and we still can state that we fall short of God's standards in regards to sin. The two are not mutually exclusive.

Liberals who throw stones at her don't know the first thing about Christians, it seems. But they do know the first thing about telling others not to judge, yet now they have no problem doing it.

I don't believe it's child porn at that age. The point is, other kids are prosecuted for posting pictures even less racy than these and she can freely admit she willingly participated in this and won't be.

James, I can think of at least one case way back where a kid was prosecuted for taking pictures of herself.

Anon, where am I being judgmental? I wasn't even talking about Carrie so much as the uneven legal system and the vast relaxation of pagent rules.

The significance of this whole deal has eluded me from the git-go. The woman had an opinion. She was asked a question and expressed the opinion. I don't agree with the opinion... but so what? For the life of me I cannot understand why so many folks got their rectum in an uproar.

That she posed for a pic in her panties is also a non-issue, regarldess of her age at the time. What do you expect from a bimbo beauty contestant?

But I do have an issue with the anonymous commentor above.

"Liberals who throw stones"

First, you are a moron. Second, you are a moron. How the hell do you know the politics of the person(s) to whom you refer? You don't. You can't. So that not only makes you #3, a moron, but #4 ignorant.

Try listening to something besides Bill O'Reilly. Might help you notice the real world out here.

I wasn't really versed in this recent Prejean episode, but I finally saw some pageant clips this evening. OMG, those young women have all undergone some major procedures. Their lips and teeth alone...dear god, in the last year I had some restorative dental work done - replacements of old crowns and veneers - and my dentist did it pro bono, if you can believe it (bless her heart), so I didn't even have the bill to worry about. It was still grueling. For these young women, the dental work is probably the easy part. And for what? They get, like, scholarships? Invitations to that weird old man Hefner's castle? And everyone gets this false re-adjustment of what we're supposed to consider normal.

Well, I failed to reproduce, so I can't assure anyone that I'd never let my daughter undergo such major body revision, nor would I ever stand for my son assuming that he deserves a flawless compliant Stepford girl. In other words, what the bloody hell do I know, and how on earth do I matter? (Answers: Stuff, and well, I just do.)

SOMEBODY EXPLAIN HOW LYING ON A CONTRACT AND POSING NUDE RELATES TO HER VIEWS ON MARRIAGE??????

I don't give a rat's ass what her views are. The point is that she didn't disclose the nude photos when asked to. Who cares if she was a minor. Contestants are asked to disclose ANY nude photos. She didn't, end of story.

But the best thing is watching how some of these Christians (cough cough Anonymous) are acting. Last time a contestant was dethroaned over nude photos they were all calling her a slut and lamenting the "state of morality" in America. Where was your forgiveness then?

James: the kids who take nude photos of themselves can be, and have been prosecuted. There was case at my school involving sexting.

Anon: Thats a hilarious comment, since half the conservative Christian movement is STILL trowing stones at Bill Clinton for his affair. I have a feeling that if Bush had had an affair, you would be talking about how "everybody makes mistakes and we should forgive." So please, just stop talking.

Rule of thumb: Those who loudly proclaim themselves Christian, aren't.

Those who quietly show charity, mercy, forgiveness, respect, tolerance and love towards others, especially the downtrodden, the outcasts, the misfortunate, could be members of any of a number of religions, or none of the above. Just decent human beings. Which most "CHRISTIANS!!!" aren't.

So, as Jesus would say if he were here to speak to you today, "CHRISTIANS!!!", STFU, already.

Hope everybody had a happy Fifth of Tequila!.

Right on , as usual, CN.

"Liberals who throw stones at her don't know the first thing about Christians, it seems."

This sort of tactical oversimplification: Dicto Simpliciter, to obnoxious elitists like me, simply illustrates the delusion the religiously smug operate under. There is not now, nor has there ever been a state of Christianity that did not contain vast doctrinal differences. Saying "Christians are or do this or that" in this context is like saying all mammals are cats.

"Liberals?" Jesus the socialist was killed for being a liberal. Liberal has a meaning, dipshit. Look it up.

"Sin" means nothing outside of religion and it seems as though people who toss the word around aren't aware that it's not a legal term and that what to one variety of Christian is a sin is not a sin to another. I'm no more concerned with what his pagan version of Jesus thinks than I am with Marduk's wet dreams or Krishna's case of the crabs.

If there is anyone who knows nothing of Jesus or any of the various and disparate religious neuroses that spring from the mythology about him, it's this puffed up, arrogant, ignorant, self-satisfied jerk. His own personal Jesus is nothing but a dummy he uses for his ventriloquist act.

Oh yes, and if you think the photo is porn, then you have to think half the religious art in churches around the world is porn.

While I could care less what her opinion is and if she ever posed for racy photos, I do object to the ongoing T&A show and the paid for "enhancements" of young women.
Girls still in high school are insisting and getting plastic surgery and I not only blame parents for indulging them and allowing them to risk their lives but also society for putting such a high value on mere physical beauty.
Being a brave, compassionate, intelligent, hard working young woman seems to be trivial compared to having double D tatas.

Just for the record, I find her less appealing than one of those plaster store window dummies, which essentially, she is.

Double D dumb can't be fixed with surgery.

Wow. It seems like all the ground has been covered here while I was busy obsessing about my future this morning.

Really I don't a bit about Carrie. I'm still astounded to discover that the pagent paid for her surgery. Seems to negate the whole point of a "beauty" contest if you're allowed to fix the flaws.

As for the over sensitive "Christians", what was that bible thing about a mote in your neighbor's eye....
