Right wing rage machine pwned again
I am shocked, shocked I tell you, to discover the wingnut blogragers worked themselves up into a frothing lather over an insult to the president of France. ZOMG, President Obama wrote a polite letter to the former president and apparently didn't cc: Sarkozy -- or something. Meanwhile, the Christian Science Monitor, having taken the unprecendented step of checking the facts, discovers it's worse than they thought.

[W]e found out that another French newspaper, the New Observer, explained that Obama was merely replying to a Chirac letter who was writing him as the head of his foundation — the Jacques Chirac Foundation for sustainable development and cultural dialogue. [...]I won't bother to mention the mind-bending inconsistency of the same people who were pouring out bottles of French wine and renaming crispy potatoes as Freedom Fries suddenly becoming so horribly outraged by this imaginary slight. I have to admit I find watching them rampage into irrelevancy somewhat amusing.
In any case, there is no evidence that the language has upset President Sarkozy or anyone else in France.

Well you know how touchy right wingers are about manners and stuff Libby. Unfortunatly for them, America still hasn't forgotten the failure of the Bush Presidency.
America may not have forgotten, but the wingers have.
I hate to admit it, but Bush is of course what this is really about, just like his father was the real reason for the Clinton witch hunt.
There is a lot of residual anger on the right about some of things said about Bush.
I am curious to see how Obama holds up; I find that I am rooting for him, in no small part because I just despise this crap.
Yes, it is amusing to watch how much smaller -- and smaller the items of outrage are getting. Perhaps the smallness of the mote is related to the largeness of the beam?
OMR, the difference is that what people said about Bush was based on his record, not just because we didn't like him. BDS was a myth invented by the righties to avoid confronting the facts. ODS appears to be a real derangement syndrome. They're protesting things he hasn't done.
Good point Fogg. The largeness of the beam is apparently blinding.
