Wingers go wild over flag desecration - Updated

The wingnuts are getting desperate to find something to complain about. Today's nutosphere selective outrage is over the defacing of the US flag by Obama supporters. I expect they'll be calling the dogs out on Discover Card, Navy Gear store and FlagClothes.com next.

Funny, I don't recall any mass outrage when Bush desecrated a flag on camera. And this insult to Old Glory of course, somehow escaped our wingnut patriots' attention.

Come to think of it, this photo should be on the cover when they write the book about Bush's legacy.

Update: Repsac checks into comments with more horrible flag desecrations by McCain and Mitt Romney among others.

Ah yes, Michelle Malkin. Of course Obama didn't make those flags, some supporters did out of patriotic fervor and of course we can all find countless examples of presidential and candidate images superimposed on flags going back over a hundred years - or more.

The Federal Flag Code is a toothless regulation. The Supreme Court invalidated penalties for improper idolatrous worship of the Flag in 1989, and of course there's the Ten Commandments thing.

Malignant Malkin has promoted and condoned so many crimes in the name of that woven idol that she has credibility only with the certifiably insane who would, if der Führer were still here, serve as his top advisers.

Hadn't seen that photo. Can't believe there's only one day left. It's like waiting for Christmas.

It does kind of feel like the real New Year's to me.

Damned nihilists, with your pictures & whatnot showing how some wingnuts are not intellectually honest about these things that so trouble them...

You should be ashamed...

But then, I should be, as well...

I don't see much difference between the Obama flag & this one: John McCain Car Flag - Republican Flags Wonder if Michelle is as offended?

I wonder whether Republicans think the FDNY is unpatriotic, given that logo on the top left of the page?
FDNY LODD - Blood Of Heroes

And... what about those flags with images of 911 (often the towers, and the words "Never Forget") silkscreened onto them in a very similar way to this Obama flag? I wonder if MM & her minions (& poor, sad professor Douglas, who didn't even make the Memeorandum cut?) think the folks who fly those flags are unpatriotic?

Me, I think the silkscreened flags--both Obama, McCain, & 911--are technical fouls. Against the code, but still patriotic.

I've much more problem with those writing on the flag, wearing a flag as clothing, and people who make/buy flag tissues, napkins, paper plates and the like...

YMMV of course, but I'd rather see someone waving an "altered" flag in support of his/her Presidential candidate or in memory of 3000 American dead, than witness that same person wipe their mouth on one, even if it is made of cheap paper...

Agreed, but I think the reason so much adulation and worship is directed at the symbol is to distract from the wanton desecration of the Republic for which it stands.

I think history is loaded with examples: once Jesus became "the cross" it became easy to massacre countless people in the name of love, brotherhood and peace.

Deighvid? What a strange spelling!
