TPM picks up on the new media meme I flagged yesterday. McCain isn't such a bad guy, just a victim of his advisors who are making him wallow in mudslinging. The elite media pundits agree he probably thinks he's telling the truth but his handlers are lying to him.
Great. Just what we need, another president who can't keep up with current events and just parrots the sleaze machine script of the day.

Sure, he's a victim -- just like Bush was a victim of bad information gathering. It's the party of buck passing, same as always, but this time it's started before the convention.
Do we need another "victim" in the White House? If he's such a goddamn macho generalissimo leader type, why the hell is he a victim already?
