Doug Feith's lament
By Libby
Oh goodie. Another "tell-all" book by a Bush Administration miscreant. Chief liar in the run-up to the Iraq invasion and subsequent occupation, Doug Feith, wrote a 900 pageass-covering excuse soul-bearing expose describing what went wrong with the glorious plan to liberate Iraq. Emptywheel teases out a couple of relevant points that are of mild interest, but the book appears to be pretty well summed up in a few words.
Shorter Feith: It wasn't my fault that the rest of those screw-ups didn't listen to me and make Chalabi our strongman in Baghdad when they had the chance. It would have changed everything.
My advice is, save some trees. If you must read it, don't buy it. Share one copy among friends. If it sells too well, you just encourage them to write more of this useless tripe.

chalabi got like .5 percent of the vote in the elections. Saddam hussein would have gotten more votes. George Bush would have gotten more votes.
