Kristof to the Rescue

Starting the new year with a little unintended humor, Steve Benen bends the rules at the Political Animal to take a peek behind the NYT's paywall and gives us a look at Nick Kristof's advice to Bush. Given Kristof's relentless cheerleading, up until a few weeks ago, for every move the Great Decider made, Kristof's piece takes on a hilarious quality.

Starting with suggesting Bush engage his "axis of evil" diplomatically all the way through to addressing climate change and urging the prez take a Clinton-esque approach to Social Security reform, Kristof's list reads like the 100 hour plan of the incoming Democratic Party.

What's really funny is that you have to agree with good old Nick. If Bush ditched his current dunder-headed policies and starting governing like a Democrat, he would rescue his legacy. But what's truly hilarious is that Kristof offers the advice as if he expects our mule-headed Misleader in Chief would actually take it.
