The Blame Game

It's been going from bad to worse in Iraq this week and it's not getting better. So what's a poor administration hack to do?

Why blame the Democratic Party of course. From the rank and file of Rightopia through the high level war-mongers all the way up to Cheney, they are blaming the current uptick in violence on Democrats, the liberal press, and the rest of us cut and run appeasers for encourging the terrorists. Silly us. If only we had cheerleaded the war and our Dear Leader, it would have been won by now.

Surely this spike in violence has nothing to do with Bush going to Baghdad Jordan, for an announced meeting with Maliki. That seems pretty big to me. Has he arrived announced since the invasion? It's quite a contrast to his usual secretly sneaking in under the dark of night to "rally the troops." And everyone knows he going there to holler at Maliki for not disbanding the militias.

Nah, no possible nexus there. The death squads aren't trying to scare Bush, they're clearly celebrating the Democratic party's victory here, by massacuring each other there. Shame on us for not voting in the Republic party so none of this would have happened.

Correction:I see in reviewing today's news that Bush is actually meeting in Amman Jordan with Maliki. Guess he thinks it's too dangerous to show up in Baghdad himself.

You know, this is the same bullshit garbage they pulled when they (meaning the architects of this nightmare) decided to do Vietnam. In fact the troglodites STILL blame protesters and peaceniks and the press for losing that one. Just utter madness.

The level of cognitive dissonance on that side of the fence is breathtaking, isn't it? They remind of my first husband. He has never taken responsibility for a mistake in his entire life either.

were the previous 3 and a half years of bloodshed anticipatory celebration for the democratic victory?

also, does anyone actually care what the GOP thinks about anything anymore? what are they gonna do? they have a massive propaganda network supporting a failed presidency and legistlature. what exactly are they promoting as an alternative to nancy pelosi?

It's all about shifting the blame Lester. The GOP is counting on the base to be too stupid to remember any of this by 08. They don't really give a shit about Iraq. They just want their power back.

I was thinking today, people say would we recognize jesus if he came back today or would we think he was some crazy hippy or something. would the GOP nominate reagan or goldwater today?

They were both hostile to th federal government in a way that would scare republicans post-oklahoma city. goldwater said "I don't want to pass laws, I want to repeal them" they would have likely been taken for libertarians or leftists. reagan wisely "cut and run" from beirut. his hollywood connection would have ensured he didn't make it pass the pundit firing line.

Good point Lester. Times have surely changed, and not for the better. It may surprise you to learn I supported Goldwater, back in the day.

doesn't surprise me a bit. have you ever heard stephanie miller? she's a liberal talk show host. her father was goldwaters vp. buchanan was nixons speechwriter when nixon went to china. he wrote an ode to mao's china for nixon to recite as a toast during the dinner. Imagine Bush going to Syria with david Frum composing some kind words to Assad as a means of extending the olive branch. not in a million years.

I can't imagine that either Lester.

we have a society of people who work 60 hours a week, take viagra and zoloft to offset bad marriages and jobs, drink starbucks coffee 10 times a day, have diets where bread is avoided, and have made smoking a capital offense. manic ideology is the logical outcome of this
