This is cool in a science fiction kind of way.Star Trek probably still hold the record for prescience.
I've always held up Star Dreck as a monument to unimaginative vision. Imagine traversing a universe on a WW II battleship and finding the inhabitants thereof to be humanoid bipeds in other WW II battleships where s Commander barks orders from a "bridge"
Pocket phones are not prescience
Tough crowd. I mean envisioning picture phones and independent women in the 1930s impresses me. Besides the graphic is gorgeous.
I love 1920's futurism. In fact I have a collection of science magazines from the era and the graphics are so cool.
Note the flying car in the background. It's been constantly predicted for a hundred years now and back then it seemed far less fantastic than radio phones with color video. Television was the darling of the popular science mags back then, but the experimental stuff was all about electric motors and whirling discs you would add on to your radio.
Still waiting for the flying car, but some days it feels like we're getting closer.
The way they drive in Florida? And we don't even have caves to hide in.
Haven't been in Florida for a very long time. I take it the drivers haven't improved?
