Christ on a cracker
Long time readers know how much I love these stories. This one isn't a Jesus manifestation but this woman found a message from God on a Goldfish cracker:
The cracker in question has two markings, or imperfections, on its surface. Burke says the first marking is of a cross with a circle around it. The second marking, near the head of the fish, represents a golden crown. She takes it with her everywhere, safely ensconed in an earring box padded with gauze. Considering the amount of preservatives in those things, I expect it will last for all eternity.
“When I picked this one up, I knew he was special,” she said. “Something I’ve never seen before out of all the Goldfish I’ve eaten.”
Burke admittedly has been working from a large sample size, consuming between two and three pounds of the crackers per week. She says she eats the small crackers individually, examining each one for the optimal amount of savory coating.

the plus or cross in a circle is perhaps even older than its cousin the swastika. Used since the neolithic, it may have been around longer. It's associated with various sun gods, like Mithra and appears with or without wings. there were hot cross buns long before Easter or Christianity, but you can't show that to believers who see mystic confirmation of whatever nonsense they believe in every random phenomenon and especially in any intersecting lines.
Anyway, looks just like the great wheel of the Dharma to me. Buddha Rocks!
Ha! I just love how thrilled they are when they find these things. Wonder how long before she puts on Ebay?
Also, she examines every cracker before she eats it for optimal seasonings? Wonder if she rejects the ones that aren't optimal?
