One less lunatic on Capitol Hill - Jim DeMint resigns

Surprising almost everyone, Sen. Jim DeMint (R-Crazytown) resigned the Senate today and announced his move to head up the Heritage Foundation. Which seems like the perfect fit. Heritage has become the HQ of conservative lunacy so the severely demented DeMint will fit right in.

Think Progress quickly came up with 11 reasons this should make sane people happy. All of them good and I could add one more. Jim DeMint is a batshit crazy, soulless sociopath whose life dream is to destroy governance by consent of the majority.

Not that he won't still be doing that as head of Heritage but now at least he'll be embarassing them instead of us. So there's that.
