The shutdown game
Just another high stakes gamble in The Village. The Caucus posts the he said/she said on the pending government shutdown. Shorter version:
Boehner: If the government shuts down it's the Democrats fault for not meeting the extreme terms of the Tea Party GOPers.Me to Schumer (and Obama): WTF? You're holding the high cards. Why are you underplaying your hand? #thoughtIelectedbetterpokerplayers
Schumer: Compromise deal is on the table. Okay with us if you have to pretend to play tough to fool the Tea Party rubes.
Labels: Democrats, Election 2012, President Obama, Republicans

Had the 'dems did their job and passed a budget when they were supposed to we would not be in this situation. Instead we would be arguing over the FY 2012 budget, not the current FY budget.
Playing politics by delaying a budget bill in 2010 has not served the country well.

And you have forgotten that the reason the budget wasn't passed and much other vital work wasn't done because of GOP obstructionism.

If they could handle facts, they would be lefties.
Ha. So true Ruth.
Ms Spencer wrote "And you have forgotten that the reason the budget wasn't passed and much other vital work wasn't done because of GOP obstructionism"
Ms Spencer..feel free to show where the 'dem budget was filibustered.
Big Hint..Under Senate rules appropriations bills cannot be filibustered.
"Budget resolutions and reconciliation bills are exempt from the Senate filibuster rule"

What is your next excuse for defending your side
correction in the above statement..Budget resolutions, not appropriations bills
