The GOPers must be crazy

The Republicans are obviously worried they won't be able to shift the blame for a government shutdown onto the Democrats, so here comes The Government Shutdown Prevention Act. This little hat trick is supposed to be considered on Friday.
The bill would make H.R. 1 law if the Senate fails to pass a measure “before April 6” to fund the government for the rest of the fiscal year. H.R. 1, which passed the House but has gone nowhere in the Senate, would fund the government through the end of September and seeks to cut $61 billion in spending.
This was actually voted down in the Senate already the House and as most of us know, the House can't just pass a law all by itself.

Cantor, who has been in office long enough to know this isn't legally binding, says the ploy will prove the GOPers are serious. Seriously crazy is more like it. But they'll be able to say they voted for the Government Shutdown Prevention Act, and hope like hell the rubes will buy it. Might not even be that bad a bet. As long as it looks like it pisses off liberals, the 27%ers will likely love it.

Every day, I keep remembering my friend, who counseled sitting out 2010 to teach the Dems a lesson, asking how much damage could the crazy cons do in two years. It's only been three months...

Oh fer crying out loud. Republicans couldn't govern their way out of a paper bag. This is just so ... so ... geez, I can't even think of the word. Craven. It's just all politics with those idiots.

Politics would be an improvement, all they can manage is to tear down what has been built up by their betters. Not knowing how congress works kind of epitomizes the teabaggage element.

It's the cognitive dissonance that always stuns me. If Democrats did this shit they would be screeching to the high heavens. Seems like only yesterday this same crowd was wailing about Dems ramming through a health reform bill after over a year of hearings and negotiations. And don't forget demon pass...

Dissonance presumes there are cognitive powers in the first place. Here they're screaming that Obama is a tyrant and traitor for not seeking prior permission to implement a no-fly zone in Libya and thereby "trashing the constitution." My Congressman, a lawyer is raising hell about it although he well knows the act only requires notice within 48 hours ( which he did) and that the UN resolution permits it without congressional approval.

Of course the theme song is "If Bush did this Liberals would scream" He did and they did, but who really cares?

These are people who know they're lying and they know they're lying to people who are too damned mad with idiot rage to know or care.

This is the way democracies fall to the right. I can't wait to get away from this wholesale insanity.

Please don't tell me you're leaving the internets and moving to Tahiti Fogg. And yes, it's so irritating that the liars can so easily manipulate the anger.

I'm leaving for St. Maartin and the Lesser Antilles early tomorrow morning. It's tempting to stay, but I should be back in a week.

I'm so fed up with the idiot's Crusade and its corporate sponsors, I really don't care what happens any more.

It's the shock and awe thing Fogg. I'm at the point where I'm hoping the Mayans are right because I can't figure out how to stop these maniacs.
