Screw it

Seriously, I'm effin' done. Screw working for the politically possible. Screw the watered down public option. I'm sick of the noise in the health care debate. I'm sick of the disinfo. I'm sick of pushing back against the crazytrain. Sick of exposing astroturfers. Sick of the sellouts on all sides. It's all a distraction.

I decided today, that from right now until the damn thing is over, I'm going to push for single payer. Towards that end, I've been blogging up a storm at Detroit News today. Click on the link below if you want to see where I'm going with it. I'm probably still taking up all the real estate at the top of the blog for the moment.

Sold correctly single payer has a chance. It removes the burden of health insurance expense from employers. Simplifies health care provider billing. It's good for everyone. Well, except fatcat insuance company executives. Therin lies the problem They have the money to buy legislators and a news channel that tells blind fools what to say and where to go.

Glad to have you in the fight Libby.

I read your Detnews post and thought it was a very logical and well thought out argument.
No doubt the right-loons will be slathering all over it soon, but hang tough because I do think, as tired as we all are, we really are making a difference.
It is said that truly successful people are those who, when faced with a brick wall, choose to climb it rather than give up.
So, get up that wall, sister! I'll even stand under you and give oyur ass a boost! LOL!

As I've been arguing elsewhere: isn't it apparent that because we don't argue that there should be no municipal ambulances, county hospitals and clinics, this argument is a tactical diversion by HMOs and Insurance companies?

We don't insist that the paramedics in the county ambulance will euthanize you any more than we are sure the city fire department is an avatar of Marxism.

The people who argue like this aren't expressing their own opinions and I think it's useless to argue with them. I think we need to let our representatives know we are firmly behind single payer and see through the death panel bullshit and see through them and suspect them of being on the take and will vote their asses into oblivion if they try to screw us.

A phone call a day goes a very long way.

LOL Rocky. Hope you ate your Wheaties if you're going to try to boost my prodigious butt up a wall. :)

Fogg, I'm slow in coming to that realization, but it's true. No point in arguing with the wingnuts. No amount of empirical evidence will convince them. The target should most definitely be the Congresslizards.
