How progressive are you?

I don't usually post these quizzes but NTodd found a really good one. The questions are interesting and the format is done well. It's quick even though it's a little long. My score was 375/400. How progressive are you?

At 250/400, I'm a progressive, whatever that means but not as progressive as you, obviously. :)

LOL Rocky. You're right in the middle. And of all the people who took it, I got the second highest score. Hard to bet an old hippie at being liberal. :)

The quiz's internet server froze up. I guess that makes me an anarchist.

i got 366/400 -- lower than i expected, but there were a couple questions that i couldn't answer on a more/less spectrum, so i split the difference with '5'.

still, i'm safely 'extremely progressive' so that works for me :-)

I had a couple of questions that I split on too. The choices weren't quite right. But mostly I had strong opinions one way or the other.

Ah - these things are all meaningless because the questions run the gamut of sophistry. Most of the key words are relative terms and are undefined. Many are best answered by "it depends" many depend on Pavlovian responses to standard shibboleths.

For instance, is free trade good or bad? The question should address the speed of implementation since good changes can be harmful if the change is too fast. Just an example.

So the machine gave me 318 and I don't think it means a damned thing.

LOL Fogg. Actually that's about where I would expect you to score. I didn't like that Q either. I was thinking it depends on whether you mean real free trade or what we have now.

And you're right that it's pretty much meaningless, and I don't usually think much of these quizzes either, but I still think this one was better than most.

I scored 347, and yes, the meaning of this sort of thing is limited, and yes, some of the statements were oddly worded, but I think it has some value when we reflect on these matters. Kinda like your SAT scores or your IQ. It's a kind of snapshot, but never the whole story, of course.

Also...farewell to your friend Cynthia. I will light a candle for her tonight.
