Fighting viral with viral

By Libby

We were just discussing viral emails in comments here recently and I've been thinking some about how you might start one. I was thinking in terms of starting one that simply tells the truth about McCain, which is damning enough. Like maybe one about how he treats his wifes. Shame on me for thinking negative instead of trying to find positive countermeasures. This is really a much better idea. [via]

Damn, speaking of viruses, I feel a cold coming, and it’s your fault, Libby:

Senator McCain is notorious for personality quirks that would give anyone pause for concern. My son-in-law, for instance, was protocol officer during one of McCain’s visits to Iraq. It seems Senator McCain was undisciplined and unfocused, and resisted handling by handlers who were forced to say in frustration: “Sir we have to leave NOW, as in RIGHT NOW … “ because lives were at risk, while the esteemed Senator seemed distracted and lost in space. These character quirks do not auger well for a man who aspires to be commander-in-chief.

With respect to McCain’s disdain for women, there is this link courtesy of Echidne and Suzie:

Ross Perot, who paid her medical bills [referring to McCain’s first wife, Carol] all those years ago, now believes that both Carol McCain and the American people have been taken in by a man who is unusually slick and cruel – even by the standards of modern politics. ‘McCain is the classic opportunist.’

These anecdotal reports suggest that McCain will be far worse than Bush, I have reason to believe.

It's not anecdotal in the sense that it can't be confirmed and it can't be said to be typical of his behavior.

Sad to say, true stories never have the punch of manufactured propaganda and why should we stick to the truth when after what the GOP did to Kerry?

ROFL!!! Priceless! You're right, Lib, I too think this would be so much better!

I don't know that it hasn't been confirmed Fogg. I actually have that link saved and they quoted a couple of people who had intimate knowledge of the first wife situation.

I've been planning to use it, probably at DetNews.

SC, I'm not surprised to hear he's disdainful of the rules on his Iraq visits. It seems to be a hallmark of his entire military career.

Rocky, that was a funny post, wasn't it. Made me laugh too.

I meant that it can't be dismissed as anecdotal because it can be confirmed. His serial marital infidelity is also confirmed and admitted to.

It's all surprising only in that Hillary was said to be so ambitious and this guy has an ego big enough for an Allosaurus.

He so gets a free ride. The only reason he has this war hero, maverick persona at all is because the media invented for him and reinforces it daily.

I for one, would very much like to see a full disclosure of McCain's military records. He depends on his (false) position as some kind of military hero that I think it's very telling that this information is so closely guarded. If it supported his claim, it would be blasted all over the airways day and night.

But of course it doesn't. Just the opposite is more likely, that it would damage his credibility so much that he wouldn't have a chance. And now that it is becoming an issue, I see that he no longer refers to it in every other sentence like he did in the beginning.

I'd see more pressure on him to release those records. I think you're right, that it would ruin his image once and for all.

Records or not, McCain is still a hotdog.
