Why Obama Gets My Vote

Because he just got the endorsement of the Grateful Dead, of course!

Those goddamn, dirty, lovable hippies known as the Grateful Dead, i.e., Bob Weir, Mickey Hart, and Phil Lesh, reunite tonight in honor of (our future president)Barack Obama.

The battle to capture California's "gray-haired ponytail vote" may be over: The Grateful Dead, less Jerry, is endorsing Barack Obama.

The Dead will be reuniting for a one-off show Monday at the Warfield Theatre in San Francisco for a GOTV rally. (GOTV means Get Outta The Van, the cops are coming). Tickets were sold out instantly, of course. But you don't have to grovel around the Warfield entrance begging scalpers or try to sneak in the back exits.

You can watch it streamed live at http://www.iclips.net/ at 7:30 p.m, Left Coast time. The lineup: Mickey Hart, Phil Lesh, Bob Weir will be joined by Jackie Greene, John Molo and Steve Molitz.
