Congress finds funds for WOsD

If anyone was worried that the war on some drugs was in danger of ending soon, fear not. Jeralyn discovers the Congress appropriated funding for 200 additional DEA "Special Agents" when they passed that omnibus spending bill in December. I doubt most of them even realized it was in there. A bill that huge, nobody really knows what's in it, they just know they got what they wanted. What do they care? It's not their money -- it's ours.

Our political class doesn't govern anymore, they just make deals. They don't read the bills and consider their votes. Watch CSPAN for a while. They don't even bother to show up for the debates. The outcome is decided outside of chambers long before they all crowd in at the last minute to cast their ballot.

But while they're too busy trading favors and building their networks for future K Street endeavors to pay attention, we get stuck with the Patriot Act and the so-called Protect America atrocity and endless billions wasted on the war on some drugs.

We pay these guys a good salary. I don't know about you but I don't think we're getting our money's worth.
