House overrides Bush veto

I didn't see much buzz about this yesterday even though it's the first time the Congress managed to thwart our Madman in Chief's veto of the water bill by a healthy margin with a final vote of 361-54. Maybe because it was widely expected. The Senate seems likely to follow the House's lead and do the same.

I'm glad to see it pass even though it was loaded with incumbency protection pork. As far as I know the projects were all water related and since pork is inevitable, any project that protects or improves our water resources would seem to me to be a good place to throw that lard.
