Excess Hoggage - Blog-a-lot Edition

By Libby

Sometimes I wonder if I blog too much. The posts do seem to pile up rather quickly.

This story on the Marlboro Marine really got to me this morning. I don't know how anyone can read these sort of stories and still support the occupation.

On a happier note, Michael Linn Jones wrote a hilarious post on dealing with cell phone tech support. Click over for the gratituous 60s reference to Ernestine.

I don't know how it could be any clearer that our government is engaging in planned incompetence as a dodge to justify privatization but when you have to sign a loyalty oath to render aid in a disaster, it appears they may have even deeper motives. Sounds like another watch list of do-gooders in the making to me.

This was amusing. Gideon Bibles are disappearing from upscale hotels in favor of intimacy aids.

Richard Armitage does the inconceivable and admits he was wrong.

Why the writers strike impacts all of us.

That Bush kissing betrayer Diane Feinstein sells us out again. This time on teleco immunity.

CNN has now descended into total irrelevance. After this little creative editing of quotes, just toss them into the barrel with Faux News.

I got a surprising vitriolic response to my thoughts on Rummy, Stanford and the First Amendment.

I was wondering if this sex scandal was even worth mentioning. That double rubber suit preacher really set the bar high, you know what I mean.

Why Kerik's indictment should take Rudy down too, but probably won't.

And in case you were wondering, I'm still disgusted with the Dems for caving on Mukasey.

I saw some of the armitage thing on CNN. what was intersting was he said the reason he didn't think she was covert was because he had never seen a covert agents nameo n a memo before. So the nature of the trial makes a little more sense. obviously, whoever had the memo was in fact to blame, if not legally so.

Except that it wasn't really just a memo Lester. It was a report clearly marked top secret.

Most ironic of all, we learn years later that Plame was a CIA agent covering WMDs and the Iranian nuclear program. Way to go, Bush. With respect to national security issues, is that called "shooting oneself in the foot?"

They all should have gone to jail over Plame.
