US embassy in perspective

Following up on yesterday's post about the Embassy City being built in Bahgdad, I did some additional research for a related post the Detroit News and as they say, the pictures are worth a thousand words.
I can a think of few reasons and none of them are that anyone expects the violence in Iraq is going to abate with our continued occupation of the country.

To put it into context. Here's photos of our embassy in London, Rome, Saudi Arabia and Afghanistan. In contrast, at 104 acres of real estate, the new Iraq embassy can't be shown in just one picture. It takes several different shots. Why do you think it's so big?
