Quick bytes

By Libby

I know I'm light on blogging. I got involved in a bit of a tiff with the Ron Paul community today but I like the way the comments are resolving. I knew there were more reasonable supporters out there. They need to come forward more.

Meanwhile, I'm burned out. It's been another crazy week that I can't talk about but Sully picks up a rare moment of sanity from Jonah on the drug war.

And this is priceless. The incomparable Nicole Belle at C&L posts the best interview in the history of television. Jon Stewart has Chris Matthews on to discuss Tweety's new book. It made me laugh anyway so I'm quitting while I'm ahead for the night.

Off topic, but the Weblog Awards are taking nominations again. You up for another go-round this year? Together, we can beat the Massachusetts guy!

Hey Bubblehead. Long time no see. Has it been a year already since the last go around?

I don't know what to do about it this year. I don't really have time for politicking and I've been putting my best energy into the Newshoggers. I'll have to think about it but I'm happy to try to help you beat the MA guy at least.

I "cross blogged" this on the cernig thing. I think.

" I consider Libby a friend but am not altogether sure that the guy's "spam" warrented a whole topic.

We know people at all levels of the media detest us. less governemnt means less drama and less stuff to cover. what is the bloggosphere in 2007 but a training ground fo the next generation of well spoken hacks?

mutual respect is the key and something both sides of the ron vs not ron debate need to work on."

I'm not implying you are one of these overly ambitious beltway wanna be's. just that both sides should afford the other a degree of leeway

Lester, point well taken and if it were an isolated incident I wouldn't have mentioned it. But see my new post on RP. It's an impression that's being planted in the public mind and needs to be countered if Paul's going to advance.

I'm on your side in a way. I want Paul to stay in the race and do well, if only to enlarge the debate.

sort of a backhanded compliment there

" in a way."

" if only to..."

why don't you just say what yuo feel? you want big government run by the dems. something to the left of Clinton with "responsible" high taxes

No, that's not what I want Lester. I'm not happy with the Dems either. I don't a politician. I want a leader.

I can't endorse Paul because I don't agree with his domestic agenda but I'm willing to promote his message on personal liberty and ending senseless wars.

I can't help what I think Lester. I don't come to conclusions lightly. They're the synthesis of the every piece of knowledge that roils in my head at any given moment, which is always more than I can even fully articulate.

and remember, libby, not all that is in your head is true. you only believe it to be true.

I just feel paul bashers are telling rather than showing. they jsut say "he can't win" and "he wants to destroy the federal government".

Why not say something like" I don't feel Pauls approach to foreign policy is good because i feel we need to go be in every country to feel safe" or

"I don't like his approach to health care because Ifeel that the federal government needs to get more involved with it because theyare better at running things than companies" or something. whatever it is you strange non Paul supoprters think.
