Immigration machinations gone wild

I haven't posted much on the immigration bill because I find the debate mostly so mean-spirited and illogical that I can't think of anything to say that wouldn't insult many people whom I care about but this is too insane not to mention.
What's to celebrate? Our elected representatives just voted to punish the citizens for the sins of its politicians by withholding federal emergency services funding? So if a disaster befalls Boulder, FEMA won't show up and this a good thing? In the old days they used to call this cutting off your nose to spite your face. If Tancredo thinks this "is a really good indicator of just how much closer to the people the House is than the Senate is," he's got a good long hike to reach reality.
He's right about one thing though, "the times, they are a-changing." Thanks to his shameless hate-mongering, they're a-changing all right, but not for the better.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The U.S. House of Representatives this morning voted to withhold federal emergency services funding for "sanctuary cities" that protect illegal immigrants.Sponsored of course, by that champion of bigotry, Tancredo, who crowed that it would apply to his own district cities of Denver and Boulder. Even worse, "[t]he House passed the amendment, 234 to 189, with 50 Democrats voting in favor." Granted it's an empty measure since it fails to define any criteria for "sanctuary cities," but still -- WTF?

What's really stupid is most of these hate mongers need only look in the mirror to see what they are fighting against.
I doubt those cities will need anything from the DHS anyway. I like tancredo in general. he's not a racist, he's just against illegal immigration. Isn't everyone?
I don't mind the sanctuary cities in particular. if the peple are here they should be treated with respect. but they shuoldn't be here.

Lester, I might remind you that your ancestors were immigrants once too, unless you're an American Indian.
I'm a WASP actually. lol My great 10X grandfather literally came over on the mayflower. In fact, he was william bradford, essentially the first american.
Well they were immigrants too Lester and would not have survived without the "welfare" they received from the native inhabitants.
