Why should they worry?

The WaPo notes that despite the general anxiety among the GOP, Bush and Rove aren't at all worried about losing seats in the Congress. It begs the question, what do they know that we don't?

I'm on record in thinking that they figure they have the lock on the Diebolds and can beat the exit polling one more time by stealing the votes and this quote doesn't do a thing to ease my fears.
The RNC is also planning another big get-out-the-vote drive in the final three days before the elections.
Booman Tribune is with me on this one. Something stinks on Pennsylvania Avenue and it's not just the propaganda.

Hey Frederick. I'm afraid that's exactly what will happen if they try to fix the vote again and maybe that's exactly what we need is good old fashioned 60s style demonstrations.

I really think that's only operative if it's still close.

If they're gonna cheat, I don't think they can get beyond 3 or 4 races +- 5%.

But that's a good observation that they've been laying the "voter turnout" explanation early and often.

Good point Mike and I agree it will only work for them if the races are close. Many aren't but don't forget the wide margin between Lamont and Lieberman that suddenly disappeared in the 11th hour polls. All they need to get away with it is plausible deniability. Or even implausible deniabililty as we saw in 04. I'm still certain they stole that one.

Libby, I think that you're right that there are going to be some serious irregularities. The question is, how far--how many districts and how blatently--will the GOP go to secure their control of Congress? If it's just the closest races, that may not be enough.

You're right Kvatch. Those are the questions and I won't rest easy until we have the answers. I wish the election was tomorrow. It's so nerve wracking waiting to see what crazy ass thing Rove might come up with next.

I don't know how you can say that Lester. Yeah Kerry was a dog of a candidate but the evidence of fraud has been well documented since then.
