Odd lot
How bad is it that I'm getting my local news via Avedon? The governor of North Carolina signed, an Innocence Commission into being, that provides for a panel to review wrongful convictions. Sometimes I like this state.
And this is pix of the day, although I've heard they actually, rather quietly, went back to the traditional name for the item.

the innocence commission is a very good thing ... and another reminder of how frickin' hard it is to get it right even within a judicial systme, let alone a war ... and that picture ... that frickin' rocks ... now that's a t-shirt worthy concept ...
The pix would make a good tshirt and I'm heartened to see the Commission. I believe it's the first of its kind, but sadly the impetus was because of the poor guy who spent 18 years in jail for a crime he didn't commit.
I like the Innocence Commission idea too, but I'd like to see it spread across the rest of the nation. That's unlikely though since few states have governor's like Easley who's a former prosecutor.
I'm so sure Easley did it out of sense of conscience Kathy. I think it was more in response to the public outcry over the black guy who did the time for nothing. But I'm still glad to see it. Now to see if it works.
